What is gccc and what can you do with it?
gccc is a stand-alone progam that allows you to chat on the gay.com chat rooms. This is not a new chat system but simply an alternative way of talking to the same people. You need your gay.com user name and password to use it.
How it all began...
This goes back to some volunteering work done by Alex Marchard for the Victorian Aids Council's Outreach Project. It was meant to assist the volunteers in providing services to chatters. Over time more features were implemented and it has grown to a full chat client used by over a thousand people all over the world.
Why use an alternative client if gay.com has one anyway?
Mainly because it offers a whole lot more features than the applet provided by gay.com and because of all those annoying bots and ads. gccc offers a comprehensive blocking system that puts an end to this!
How popular is gccc? does anyone use it?
Below is a chart of gccc users. The figures represent unique user names and not just downloads.
